Could I be a navy seal?

On February 20, 2012, in navy seal workout, by admin

I’ve looked into being a Navy SEAL a lot. I’m doing the workouts to prepare myself for BUDS and all of the other physical areas of being a SEAL. But everywhere I go, people say that a good SEAL candidate would be between 5’10” and 6’2” and between 110 and 190 pounds. I’m 15 and I’m 5’10 and 180 pounds. Chances are I’ll be bigger than a “good” candidate. I think i have the mentality to make it, but i don’t really know, it would be nice if some former SEALs or a SEAL that is still in service would answer, especially if you were or are my size or bigger.

What to do to become a navy seal?

On February 18, 2012, in navy seal workout, by admin

Ok, I’ve wanted to join the military almost my whole life and after juggling around what different career options are in the armed forces I feel the seals are what i want to do most.
I’m 15 years old and am entering sophomore year, I maintain a 3.8 G.P.A, am on the football an track team, and workout on a regular basis. I will be an eagle scout by winter time, and I used to be on a swim team which I will be re-joining, and I am semi fluent in spanish and after this year I will be trying to learn french as well. I want to go to college (Hopefully Navy Academy) to become an officer so I probably will not be enlisting. What else should I be doing to prepare myself?
Ok about the language thing, if my highschool only offers useless languages then how should I go about learning something more useful?
